" Your perfect smile without the          annoyance or braces"

         Dr. Catherine A. Ruiz-Ahneman

Orthodontics

Orthodontics is a dental specialty that aligns your bite and straightens your teeth. You might need to see an orthodontist if you have crooked, overlapped, twisted, or gapped teeth. Typical orthodontic treatments include traditional braces, clear aligners, and removable retainers.

As early as a child's formative years, Dr. Ruiz-Ahneman has been trained in functional appliances where she can augment skeletal growth of the maxilla-facial structure to guarantee a child of a beautiful profile, stimulate the development of the mandible to prevent an underbite, inhibit its growth from a congenital overbite or crossbite. When started early, functional orthodontic therapy can also prevent malocclusion, preventing the need for braces.

Invisalign

Dr. Ruiz-Ahneman is also a premier Invisalign provider, having been doing Invisalign for both children and adults for 16 years.

Your perfect smile without the annoyance of braces in less than a year.

Alignment of teeth using clear, invisible trays.

The Invisalign procedure begins with impressions of your teeth taken at our Anderson Family Dental office. Using the impressions of your teeth, a series of custom clear aligners will be developed for you to wear over the course of treatment. Aligners are usually changed every one to two weeks as the teeth shift and settle in place. Invisalign never gets in the way as the aligners are removable, so eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing are all regular routines. Scheduled checkups will be required during the Invisalign treatment, and a final retainer must be worn to keep teeth in their new and corrected positions.

   Pediatric Dentistry

" We take care of your little ones "

We see children of all ages, from as early as six months, when their first teeth come in. We offer Drill-free dentistry where no anesthetic or “SHOT” is necessary. We can do this with the use of the air abrasion technique.

Air abrasion is a minimally invasive, mechanical tooth preparation technique that uses kinetic energy to remove carious tooth structure. A powerful narrow stream of moving aluminum-oxide particles hits the tooth surface, and they abrade it without heat, vibration, or noise, all under high-speed suction, where there is no noise to scare or alarm the child. It is a trendy device in the office that even the adults are big fans of the “drill-free” technique.

Our team is dedicated to providing excellent dental care for your little ones. Our child-friendly office guarantees that each child receives the best dental care possible. Our emphasis is on total preventive care. This begins with regular hygiene visits and home care.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance of teeth, gums, and bites. It primarily focuses on improvement in dental aesthetics in color, position, shape, size, alignment, and overall smile appearance.

Composite Resins (Fillings)

Tooth-colored fillings are glass or quartz fillers that provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size fillings that must withstand moderate pressure from chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth. This allows us to restore the teeth aesthetically.

Crowns and Bridges

A type of prosthesis that restorates missing lost teeth and surrounding structures. Crowns and fixed bridges are made with either an all-ceramic option or porcelain fused to precious metal and are permanently cemented.

A removable partial or complete bridge is made digitally and can be fabricated in less than two weeks. Materials can be made with flexible material and a tooth-colored clasp.

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments to improve your smile's look instantly. Porcelain Veneer is a thin veneer of custom-made porcelain applied directly to the teeth. Porcelain has a natural translucency that mimics natural tooth structure and enhances your smile's aesthetics.

They can correct many imperfections, including changing the color and shape of teeth, making crooked teeth appear straight, fixing gaps and spaces between teeth, and making the arch wider (which creates a fuller smile by giving more significant support to the lips and cheeks.)

   Periodontics

" Your mouth is portal to your health"

Gingivitis ("inflammation of the gum tissue") is a non-destructive periodontal disease. The most common form of gingivitis, and the most common form of periodontal disease overall, is in response to bacterial biofilms (also called plaque) adherent to tooth surfaces, termed plaque-induced gingivitis. In the absence of treatment, gingivitis may progress to periodontitis, which is a destructive form of periodontal disease. While in some sites or individuals, gingivitis never progresses to periodontitis; data indicates that periodontitis is always preceded by gingivitis. Periodontal Therapy refers to treating supporting structures of your teeth, such as gums and bones.

Insurance plans usually cover dental cleanings. It's because cleanings work. Regular checkups and cleanings are the top way to prevent cavities and keep your gums healthy.

Our examination professional looks at your teeth visually, radiographically inspecting them, and assessing your gums and teeth to prevent periodontal disease or future anticipated problems. We like to be a step ahead regarding our patient's oral health.

In most cases, the first line of defense against periodontitis is a deep cleaning procedure using scaling and root planning. Scaling is the systematic removal of plaque, tartar, and damaged tissue from the mouth. Root planning is smoothing tooth roots to prevent future plaque and tartar buildup.

Antibacterial Therapy-Arestin Is a way to prevent periodontal disease. We use Arestin Protect antibiotic delivery systems.

 Endodontics

" Is a Specialists in Saving Teeth  "

Root Canal Treatment

Your teeth are meant to last a lifetime. Years ago, diseased or injured teeth were usually pulled. But today, a tooth can often be saved through root canal (endodontic) treatment.

This simple treatment can save your natural teeth from extraction and prevent the need for dental implants or bridges.
Endodontics (en-do-DON-tics) is the branch of dentistry that treats diseases or injuries to the dental pulp.
Here at Anderson Family Dental, Dr. Anthoula Nikolaidis, is available especially for emergencies.

A dental implant is a prosthesis that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental prosthesis, such as a crown, bridge, or denture. We at Anderson Family Dental restore dental implants using Titanium metal and Empress Porcelain or an “All Ceramic Option,” Zirconia Monolithic Ceramic,  providing our patients with the most natural-looking restoration.
